Jörgen Ödalen received his PhD in Political Science from Uppsala University in 2008. He divides his time between the Department of Management and Engineering (IEI) at Linköping University - where he is a Senior Lecturer in Political Theory - and the Department of Government at Uppsala University - where he is a Senior Research Associate. During 2010-2013 he will be working with a research project, funded by the Swedish Research Council, on the human rights of environmental migrants.

His area of research is contemporary political philosophy, with a particular focus on theories of distributive justice; global justice; environmental justice; issues of climate change, multiculturalism, citizenship and nationality; and local self-determination and secession.

He is a co-convener of the Uppsala Forum Workshop on Global Climate Change.
