Welcome Irene Belmonte-Martin, new guest researcher visiting the department

During a few month to come the Department of Government will, once again, be visited by Irene Belmonte-Martin, lecturer of Political Science and Administration and a member of the Gender Studies Research Center at Miguel Hernandez University, Spain.

Irene Belmonte-Martin has been a visiting professor and researcher at the universities of Østfold (Norway), Swiss Institute of Comparative Law, Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar (Quito, Ecuador) and Universidad San Carlos de Guatemala, and Uppsala.

Her main line of research consists of studying the current challenges faced by the Public Administration. The quality of her research has been recognized and awarded: among others, with the Accésit Premio Fernando Albi Award on Local Studies in 2014, the 2nd runner-up in the National Institute on Public Administration (INAP) 2015 doctoral thesis awards and the extraordinary doctoral award at the University of Alicante. Other topics of her interest are framed in the analysis of different public policies and specifically, in the welfare system in Spain from a comparative perspective, gender studies and management of development cooperation.
