Politics of and by Artificial Intelligence - symposium 21 March

2023-02-02

Welcome to an exciting symposium on the topic of Politics of and by AI featuring three very prominent speakers from academia and beyond on 21 March 18:00-19:30 in Brusewitzsalen, Östra Ågatan 19.

AI is becoming increasingly present in politics. As both public and private sector increasingly relies on it, regulating autonomous technologies has become a key challenge to 21st century democracy. Meanwhile, they are pivotal shapers of the arenas for debate. So, what happens when chat-bots populate democratic forums? Who gets to be in charge of the technological development? How are local and national governments in Sweden and beyond currently employing AI technologies? And how should we regulate AI to reenforce rather than dismantle democratic values?

No prior knowledge about AI and politics is needed to attend. We especially encourage students and "AI illiterates" to join for this unique opportunity to learn about the emerging field of AI and politics.

Robert Gorwa, WZB Berlin Research fellow, Digitalization and Societal transformation
